Shakira is putting up a brave face, but she is privately terrified of being imprisoned if she is found guilty of tax cheating in Brazil.
According to a source, Shakira doesn’t want her family to believe she’s scared, but she is since there’s a good chance she’ll be found guilty of the crime.
An unnamed tattler shared:
“Even though Shakira is putting on a brave face now, being locked up in prison would be her worst nightmare. She’s suffering from terrible insomnia and anxiety over the whole messy situation. The thought of being torn apart from her loved ones is terrifying.”
According to the insider, the tax evasion issue could not have occurred at a worse moment. After all, Shakira recently terminated her years-long romance with Gerard Pique after allegations of infidelity surfaced.
The tipster added:
“There were definitely trust issues. They’d been on the rocks for years, but Shakira finally kicked him to the curb. Shakira is worried sick about losing Milan and Sasha to Gerard. She fears that he’ll fight to take the kids in the event the trial doesn’t go her way. But Shakira is also confident justice will ultimately prevail.”
However, the statements of the tabloid should be taken with a grain of salt. As of yet, there is no evidence that Shakira is facing an eight-year prison sentence.
Despite the possibility that this is the conclusion of her trial, her attorneys are optimistic that the singer will not be convicted. After all, their stance has always been the same: Shakira has paid her taxes.
While it is true that her relationship with Pique has ended, it is not accurate that she is concerned about losing custody of her children.
She has nothing to be concerned about because she is unlikely to be imprisoned. Her two children will remain with her.
Meanwhile, Shakira made news a few weeks ago after Jennifer Lopez allegedly declined to perform alongside her at the Super Bowl.
Lopez stated in the Netflix documentary Halftime that dividing her performance time to include Shakira wasn’t enough for her.
Nonetheless, the two women managed to put on a fantastic show for their supporters.
