Coldplay vocalist Chris Martin recently interrupted their Wembley show to ask his fans for a unique request: to cease recording while they were singing a certain song.

The request, as stated by fans, was justified, especially given the tone of the show.

Some fans, though, were skeptical of Martin’s decision.

Coldplay Wembley Concert Paused Upon Chris Martin’s Request

Coldplay’s “Music of the Spheres” concert was called off due to the frontman’s request, according to the Daily Mail UK.

Midway through singing A Sky Full of Stars, Chris Martin paused and urged the audience to cease filming the performance for the time being.

I’ll move quickly since we need to get all of the music in before they shut the thing down. So, let’s do it again, but please, if we could just have one song without mobile phones, cameras, electronics, or anything else, just the power of people, people power,” he implored the audience.

The suggestion was received with thunderous applause from the ecstatic audience.

Many netizens have come to admire the TikTok videos that have emerged recording the event.

A user, along with the video of Chris Martin’s request, posted:

“Without a doubt, the highlight of the night came shortly after this video ended.”

The Coldplay vocalist urged the audience to “connect” with them by turning off their phones.

Chris Martin declared:

“You can film anything after this song.’ But for this one song, let’s just be humans, myself, you, my brother, and my sister, and do it again.”

While everyone seemed to be in awe by Martin’s fairly impromptu proposal, several fans and netizens were not persuaded.

Martin had apparently asked the same question several times before.

According to a fan who attended previous performances on the band’s “Music for the Spheres” Tour, the request was prepared for each performance.

Despite the news, supporters remain upbeat and enthusiastic about Coldplay’s future shows.
