Ricky Martin reportedly severed relations with his entire family out of fear that he would be pulled into other problems involving them.

Martin was reportedly astonished when his nephew accused him of abuse and incest, as reported by National Enquirer. Later, the 21-year-old dropped his accusations against the singer, but the claims will long be associated with Martin’s name.

Following the incident, Martin decided to stop communicating with his entire family out of concern that his nephew’s fabricated accusation might inspire others to do the same.

The source said:

“Everyone talks about what happens to someone when they become famous. No one talks about what happens to a famous person’s family when suddenly one person is a multimillionaire with great power. Ricky was always very generous with his family. He was the cash cow and made sure everyone benefited from his success.”

However, the recent allegations of his sister’s son encouraged him to finally put walls between himself and his entire family.

The insider added:

“It’s awful, but now Ricky can’t trust anyone anymore, not even family.”

Previously, Martin disputed his nephew’s alarming accusations. Before the allegations were dismissed, however, Martin’s attorney stated that he was prepared to defend himself in court.

Additionally, he emphasized that he had never been sexual with his nephew and had never stalked him, as his nephew alleged.

Ricky Martin’s lawyer said:

“The person who made this claim is struggling with deep mental health challenges. Ricky Martin has, of course, never been — and would never be — involved in any kind of sexual or romantic relationship with his nephew.”

Currently, it appears that Martin is enjoying his time away from his family. However, this situation may be transient. Even if his claims are false, his nephew can still press charges against him in an attempt to destroy the singer’s life.

And if this occurs again, Martin would be required to defend himself in court and provide his testimony to prove that his nephew is lying.

It is yet unknown whether Martin severed relations with his entire family. However, it is quite probable that the artist has not spoken with his nephew in recent months.
