Are Shakira’s legal troubles piling up?
Florinda Meza, the character’s creator’s widow, denied reports of impending legal action against the “Hips Don’t Lie” singer for allegedly ripping off a move from “The Kid From The Eight” in the video “Te Felicito.”
Marca reported that a few days earlier, there was some media speculation about a possible lawsuit against the mother of two, who would have followed in the footsteps of “The Kid from the Eight” when he gave her the “garrotera.”
When “The Kid from the Eight” was scared, he became paralyzed, but before that, he did things that made him immobile.
Florinda Meza organized the case because Shakira imitated Chespirito’s character’s moves in a duet with Rauw Alejandro.
Florinda, on the other hand, stated unequivocally that everything was a hoax and that she would not sue Shakira, a point she reiterated on her social media accounts this Tuesday.
In a translated version posted on her Twitter, the widow of the late Roberto Gomez Bolanos declared:
“To all public opinion: The story that I am going to sue Shakira is FALSE. Sometimes the media and social media create tales in order to sell or obtain likes. This information has no foundation. I never said anything about it. It’s a sham.”
This latest possible case comes after reports that she is facing jail time in Spain for tax evasion, and a report that her song “Waka Waka” is plagiarized has resurfaced.
Meanwhile, Shakira is said to be concerned about her divorce from her ex-husband Gerard Pique, as well as the possibility of imprisonment for alleged tax fraud.
If she is found guilty of suspected tax fraud, which she vigorously denies, she faces up to eight years in prison.
As a result, she lacks sleep and is concerned about the situation, according to a Life & Style magazine source.
Gerard has also been dating a public relations student who is nearly 20 years his junior.
While on the beach with her children, Milan, nine, and Sasha, seven, Shakira appears depressed.
The reason for their split was not revealed, but the couple agreed on a temporary custody arrangement.
Despite Gerard’s desire for his two children to remain in Barcelona, Shakira has expressed a desire for them to accompany her to Miami.
They must also divide their combined net worth of $330 million, which includes their $7 million home and $17 million private plane.
