Meghan Trainor and her husband Daryl Sabara are expecting their second child. Does this imply that she will put her music career on hold in order to become pregnant? She recently revealed that only her hectic schedule prevents them from trying for a second child sooner.
Trainor has expressed her desire for a second child.
Thursday, the 28-year-old singer told Us Weekly:
“If I could’ve got pregnant months ago, I would’ve. We’re just busy and I don’t want to be, like, nauseous while doing all this fun stuff.”
She said that she would soon be required to “travel the world in a hurry,” However, she expects to become pregnant before the end of the year.
She stated emphatically and unequivocally that a new baby is on her “calendar”:
“But November, December, I’ma be trying to get knocked up.”
One gets the impression that she is very serious about this goal, which implies that she is willing to go to any length, including halting her music career.
Trainor added:
“I would love a daughter. I’m gonna eat acidy foods ’cause I heard that helps you get a daughter.”
Trainor gave birth to her son Riley on Valentine’s Day 2021, describing the experience as “terrifying” due to the infant’s respiratory difficulties.
Trainor said the following June:
“It was one of those horror stories where he didn’t cry. When he came out, he didn’t make a sound, and I was like, ‘Why isn’t he crying?’ It was terrifying.”
Riley was taken to the neonatal intensive care unit to have a feeding tube inserted. The singer revealed that she only saw her child for a fraction of a second before he was taken away, which broke her heart for a moment. That was probably the worst part, she said.
Riley’s parents were finally able to take him home after five days. Trainor posted on Instagram:
“We had a rocky start..but Riley is perfect, happy and healthy so lucky to be your mama sweet boy.”
Meghan Trainor spoke with Billboard News anchor Tetris Kelly about the influences behind her new album Takin’ It Back, as well as how it feels to see her 2015 song “Title” go viral on TikTok. According to the singer, her previous discography served as inspiration for her upcoming October release.
She said she was going back to her sound, which she realized she already had. She is surprised that so many artists have told her that they want to recreate the “Meghan Trainor sound,” which she finds inspiring.
She shared:
“I have the doo-wop sound. At the same time, ‘Title’ blew up on TikTok. I was like, ‘Wow, universe is talking to me, and I’m listening.”
