Corey Taylor of Slipknot has revealed that his upcoming second album is nearly finished; all he needs to do now is record it next year.

Taylor has also hinted at doing a solo tour after his current commitments with Slipknot, possibly playing songs from his new album and “CMFT.”

Meanwhile, the masked frontman responds to fan requests for a Stone Sour reunion with a more definitive answer.

Slipknot frontman Corey Taylor, according to Blabbermouth, spoke with SiriusXM and revealed some exciting details about his upcoming new album.

After all, a new Corey Taylor album is in the works.

The 48-year-old rocker revealed that he has already finished writing all of the songs for his new album, which he will record early next year from January to February.

In the interview, he confirmed that the album would consist of 15 songs, a mix of old music he had written over the years and some familiar to fans.

He mentioned that some songs had already been performed when he was playing along with the “Corey Taylor & The Junk Beer Kidnap Band.”

Aside from old songs, Taylor promised new ones, including songs with a “darker edge” but still with the melodic tune fans have come to love in his music.

Aside from the new music, he expressed an interest in organizing a tour once his album was released.

Taylor said:

“And then once I’m done touring with Slipknot, I’m gonna throw together a really rad, ‘rock is back’ kind of tour for the solo stuff and start bringing out some of the younger – maybe not even some of the younger rock bands, but just some of the bands that don’t get the chance or just don’t get the looks that are afforded to either pop bands and hip-hop bands or people like me who are kind of grandfathered in.”

Nothing has yet been laid out. However, his desire to reunite with Stone Sour’s former bandmates appeared to be set in stone.

Taylor says that a reunion with his former band is not something he wants to do right now because there are still issues and dramas between the members.

Stone Sour went on indefinite hiatus in August 2022 as everyone decided to deal with their respective “things” at the time.
