YUNGBLUD may be new to the music industry, but his musical influences and idols date back to the twentieth century, as he recently revealed that one of his idols is a rock and roll legend. Who could this be?

In an interview with Billboard to promote his latest self-titled album, the “I Think I’m OKAY” hitmaker said The Rolling Stones frontman Mick Jagger is his biggest musical influence and his “everything.”

He looks up to him because of his accomplishments as a musician, activist, rockstar, and sex icon.

They’d met before, and YUNGBLUD couldn’t forget what he did during their first encounter, he said:

“I did a shot of whiskey, walked in – alright Mick how are you? In my head, I was like ‘What the f***?'”

Jagger is familiar with the young pop-punk rocker, according to Uproxx, because he previously mentioned him during an interview with P4, a Swedish radio station.

The recent revelation about YUNGBLUD’s meeting with Jagger follows an interview with VICE in which the singer discussed internet trolls and haters.

The musician has been the target of negative comments since his debut a few years ago, as he continues to express himself through style and music.

Aside from the way he dressed at concerts and music videos, YUNGBLUD claims he was called an “industry plant” and a “queerbaiter.”

Despite witnessing the grueling judgment the internet has heaped on him, the singer remained true to himself.

He stated that no one can categorize him because he is constantly “obliterating conformity and obliterating boxing yourself in.”

Elsewhere in the interview, the “acting like that” rapper stated that internet users could be cruel to younger artists, particularly him, Billie Eilish, Lil Nas X, and many others.

Furthermore, he blamed Mac Miller’s death on online haters who continued to share negative comments about him.

Regarding his message to those who continued to criticize him, YUNGBLUD stated that people should consider what other humans are going through regardless of their popularity in the industry.
