Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie court battles 2022: Jennifer Aniston’s ex sued for ‘blocking’ ex-wife from winery

Adding fuel to the fire that is Brangelina’s messy divorce, veteran actor Brad Pitt is sued by a former company of ex-wife Angelina Jolie for taking over their shared winery.

Following former power couple Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie’s messy divorce, the battle rages on at Château Miraval, a 1,300-acre estate winery where the ex-couple purchased controlling stakes in 2008. Furthermore, the actor allegedly forced Jolie to sign a “hush-clause” that barred her from discussing the specifics of their divorce.

According to the recently filed lawsuit by the “Maleficent” star’s former company, Nouvel, Pitt allegedly tried to seize control of Château Miraval to ensure that his ex-wife would not be able to profit from the winery. According to the lawsuit, the act was committed “in retaliation” for their recent divorce and custody proceedings. The contents of the suit, which they had recently obtained, are reported on page six.

The suit reads:

“In retaliation for the divorce and custody proceedings, Pitt embarked on a multi-faceted, years-long campaign to seize control of Chateau Miraval and appropriate the company’s assets for his benefit and that of his own companies and friends. Appointing himself the rightful owner of Chateau Miraval, his twin objectives were to usurp the value of Jolie’s company, Nouvel, and to obtain sole ownership of Chateau Miraval.”

Additionally, the suit revealed that Pitt had tried to “block Jolie and Nouvel from obtaining information about or managing Chateau Miraval”. Nouvel is the company that filed the lawsuit against Pitt, and Jolie founded it to keep her stake in Château Miraval, which she recently sold to liquor giant Stoli.

For an undisclosed fee, the Stoli Group acquired 50% of Jolie’s stake in October 2021.

According to the suit, Pitt ignored an offer from Jolie to sell her interest in the winery, leading her to sell the stake to the Stoli group.

Page Six reports that:

“Stoli was ready to put its experience and distribution network to work for Chateau Miraval.”

But, according to the lawsuit, Pitt:

“refused to work with [Stoli] as an equal partner.”

The suit, filed in Los Angeles on Tuesday, seeks $250 million from Pitt. The ex-couple also shares custody of their six children, Maddox, Pax, Zahara, Shiloh, and twins Knox and Vivienne.
