After Queen Elizabeth II died, members of the royal family were able to reunite, and King Charles III wanted Prince Harry to be a part of it.

Following Megxit, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle sadly returned during a time of tragedy. The fact that they reunited to attend the State Funeral suggested that the monarch’s death could kickstart the healing process.

However, this was not the case.

According to a new report by The Telegraph, the current King is hopeful that things will improve between Prince Harry and other royal family members because he still loves his child despite everything that has happened.

The insider continued:

“It remains the case that the King loves both of his children. Over the last 16 days or so, there were tremendous flickers of hope. In terms of the future, there is the hope of a cause for the unity.”

However, Prince Harry appeared to dismiss the idea soon after learning that his father disapproved of Meghan’s appearance as “inappropriate.”

In the meantime, The monarch tried to reconnect with his son, according to OK! Magazine. He sent him a dinner invitation whenever he was in the country. According to the insider, the Duke of Sussex was too angry to eat with his father and brother.

On the other hand, Meghan reportedly requested a face-to-face meeting with King Charles III, which reporter Neil Sean saw as an act of bravery, but it is unclear whether the meeting ever took place.

Apart from King Charles III, Prince William had the opportunity to mend his relationship with his brother at Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral.

Katie Nicholl, a royal expert, recently spoke with a publication about the royal brothers’ missed opportunity. She pointed out that Prince William and Prince Harry frequently appeared together and could have planned a meeting or dinner to discuss their feud.

The heir to the throne extended an olive branch to the Sussexes as they strolled outside Windsor Castle. It sparked new reconciliation rumors, but the mending reportedly did not occur.

Nicholl went on:

“There’s no real coming together, it’s very clear the ‘Fab Four’ are not fab anymore, they were going through the motions.”
