Doja Cat attended Paris Fashion Week earlier this week and literally turned heads with her newly shaved head and gold face. Fans and critics alike had mixed feelings about the new look.
A Twitter user took to the platform to express their feelings about the shocking new look:
“this paint is making her look ugly. When you do makeup like this, you still need to accentuate features. She looks like a tired old statue, LMAO.”
According to reports, Doja was not having any of it. She defended her appearance in the name of art and fashion:
“I wasn’t trying to look sexy or attractive.”
“All of my makeup has a story and there are absolutely 0 rules and if there were, you wouldn’t be the one making them.”
She took a screenshot of her response and tweeted it with a caption:
“Twitter will not let me reply so I will post a screenshot.”
Doja, born Amala Ratna Zandile Dlamini, is known for her diverse appearance and aesthetics. She was also seen wearing a daring outfit to the Monot show on October 1. Doja’s face was sculpted with a metallic blue and painted white. According to reports, she wore a red lip and mascara, and her overall appearance spoke volumes about how seriously she took the art of makeup and fashion.
Laurel Charleston, her makeup artist, praised the rapper for her dedication and appreciation of the art of makeup. She wrote on Instagram:

“I have so much gratitude for the brilliant, creative and passionate person she is.”
She debuted her shaved head on Instagram last August. Several fans expressed concern, wondering if she was having a mental breakdown, especially after she began shaving her brows during the Live. She is known for wearing various hairstyles and wigs throughout 2020 and 2021, and she has finally decided enough is enough and shaved her head.
Doja’s style and appearance are the least of her concerns. She had previously silenced the comments about her appearance:
“I won a Grammy and traveled the f**king globe I’ve had a No. 1 and I went platinum,”
“I make hit after hit after hit and you all want me to look f**kable for you […] Go f**k yourselves.”
