Valerie Bertinelli reacts to Matthew Perry’s memoir recollection of their “secret moment.”

Valerie began her acting career as a child actress, playing Barbara Cooper on the television sitcom “One Day at a Time.” She rose to prominence later in her career as the lead in the sitcom “Sydney,” alongside Matthew Perry and Craig Bierko.

An excerpt from Matthew Perry’s upcoming memoir reveals that he and Valerie shared a moment that suggested the two were more than just co-stars.

Perry revealed in an excerpt from his memoir, “Friends, Lovers, and the Big Terrible Thing,” that he was “madly in love” with Valerie Bertinelli, who was married to musician Eddie Van Halen at the time.

Matthew Perry claims that one night after drinking with the couple in their own home, he had a long make-out session with Valerie while her husband was passed out from drinking.

Matthew Perry wrote:

“As the night progressed, it was clear that Eddie had enjoyed the fruits of the vine a little too hard, one more time, and eventually he just passed out, not ten feet away from us, but still. This was my chance! If you think I didn’t actually have a chance in hell you’d be wrong, dear reader – Valerie and I had a long, elaborate makeout session.”

Valerie Bertinelli finally shares her reaction to the reveal decades later in a recent TikTok using the sound from Taylor Swift’s “Anti-Hero” lyrics:

“It’s me, hi. I’m the problem, it’s me,”

In what appears to be confirmation of the misbehaving allegations, Valerie writes:

“Anyone misbehave in their 20s and early 30s? Are you mortified?”

Despite Valerie’s embarrassed demeanor in the video, fans cheer her on for her misbehavior in the comments section. One user wrote:

“dude. you married Eddie van Halen. do you think we expected good behavior? lol. love ya, lady!”.

Meanwhile, another user commented on how the actress could get away with the act because social media and cancellation culture didn’t exist back then, saying:

“Not mortified, just glad nobody had cameras.”

Bertinelli and Van Halen divorced in 2007, and they have a musician son named Wolfgang Van Halen. The musician died from cancer in 2020.
