BTS’s RM and Pharrell Williams have announced a new global collaboration.
Since the world-famous, fan-favorite K-pop group BTS announced their disbandment, their fans worldwide have been mourning. They were not, however, down for long. Each member has gone in different experimental directions, collaborating with various stars to create iconic collaborations. Jungkook and Charlie Puth collaborated on the now-nominated Left & Right for the People’s Choice Awards. Jin and Coldplay worked together to create the recently released The Astronaut. A collaboration between RM and Pharrell Williams appears to be in the works.
The two musical sensations interviewed Rolling Stone. Williams is releasing an album, and he revealed in an interview that RM is on one of the songs.
He said:
“Well, my project, it’s called . . . it’s [under] my name, and the title of the album is Phriends. It’s the volume one. You guys [BTS] are on there, obviously. And I’m actually talking about this way more than I’m supposed to, but it’s a song from my album that [BTS] sang and it’s amazing, and I’m super grateful.”
For a long time, Pharrell Williams has been a solo staple of the music industry. Williams shared some encouraging words from his own experience in the industry, as RM is just starting on his own.
He said:
“You know what? I would just say continue to move forward. Continue to be curious. And don’t put any kind of pressure on what it is that you do by saying . . . No absolutes, like ‘Oh, I will never do music again,’ or ‘I will never . . . ’ I wouldn’t do any of that. I would just- “
We can’t wait to hear the results of this collaboration!
