Melissa Gorga was excited to show fans inside her new home, but many were disappointed with her choice of chandeliers.

Melissa and Joe have been working on their dream home for over a year, and they finally moved in this week. She shared a photo of their foyer design on Instagram.

She wrote in the caption:

“It’s all about simple elegance this time. The ceiling design is so simple yet so important. @avenuelighting with these glam chandeliers @fuda_tile_king with the most gorgeous hi shine marble floors @elementflooringus with the wood flooring. Thank you @houseofstyle_design for helping along this journey #housedesign #foyerdecor.”

Many fans were drawn to her fabric chandeliers. They received a mixed response, with many people expressing their displeasure with the items. Several people expressed displeasure with her chandeliers.

One wrote:

“Beautiful home, not a fan of the chandeliers.”

Another added:

“These ‘chandeliers’ are not it.”

A third person added:

“It’s giving babadook in the Valentino rock stud shoes.”

A fourth user wrote:

“It’s almost like Victoria’s Secret isn’t doing so well anymore, so they decided to repurpose their holiday lingerie pieces into light fixtures.”

Another user commented on how beautiful the chandeliers appeared “up close.” From a distance, however, “it appears as if you covered your lights with three huge garbage bags.” “Perhaps pictures and angles aren’t doing them justice,” the user speculated about Melissa’s chandeliers.

Several people expressed concern about the dust that would accumulate on the fabric chandeliers over time. They were “dust collectors,” according to one, and “dust will be hanging from them.”

While many people were critical of Melissa’s choice of chandlers, many others supported her decision to bring the items into her home. She does, they say, have an “eye” for design.

One wrote:

“I would have never picked a light fixture like that, but I seriously love how it turned out! You have a great eye for design.”

Another added:

“Love! You have such an incredible eye for design.”

A third person wrote:

“OMG WOW.”

Another opined:

“Always exuding elegance on all levels!!”

Another follower wrote:

“Cannot wait for a tour of the completed inside of we’d be so lucky Melissa! It’s all so gorgeous!”

Melissa revealed on November 18 that their family had finally moved into their new home. She posted a picture of her daughter Antonia Gorga standing next to a stack of Roadway Moving boxes.

She wrote:

“New beginnings! It’s all happening. It’s finally moving day. You know I’m a pro at moving, and I never move without @roadwaymoving. Wish us luck! Can’t wait to show you more of the house !!”

She also posted a video of their home’s finished exterior, which includes dozens of windows, black trim, black doors, and black decor items such as doormats and planters. However, the video received mixed reactions. While some thought the house was lovely, others were put off by its lack of symmetry.

One wrote:

“Omg, the windows not aligned, the peak not centered, ahhhhh it’s killing my OCD.”

Another echoed the same sentiment:

“Omg, the asymmetry is making my OCD go through the roof.”

Melissa and Gorga’s co-stars from “The Real Housewives of New Jersey” left sweet comments in the post. “Congratulations,” Tamra Judge and Gretchen Rossi wrote. The house was described as “magnificent” and “perfection” by Margaret Josephs.
