In a new documentary, Lamar Odom will revisit his failed marriage to Khloe Kardashian.
On Sunday, Odom, 43, posted a promotional image for his upcoming documentary “Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs, and Kardashians” on Instagram. The poster depicts a portion of Odom’s face as well as an image of his ex-wife, Kardashian. Both appear to be hidden behind shattered glass.
He wrote in the caption:
“LAMAR ODOM Sex, Drugs & Kardashians Airing Jan 2, 2023, on FOX | next day on @hulu !! Presented by TMZ.”
Netizens’ reactions to the post were mixed. Some people left fire emojis, while others hoped the former athlete would not criticize his ex-wife.
One commented:
“Have Always admired you, but I really hope you ain’t go out there and blast her… I mean she did stand by you at one of your lowest moments. In addition, you have to say it …she was a warrior having to face the world while her dream marriage was all but.”
Another added:
“I really hope you have nothing but good things to say about them because they were nothing but good to you.”
A third person wrote with a red heart emoji:
“Not on the same network lol maybe he’ll say positive things.. they were there for him.”
The documentary’s synopsis obtained by Us Weekly read:
“The all-new revealing special, ‘TMZ Presents: Lamar Odom: Sex, Drugs & Kardashians,’ takes viewers on a deep dive [into] Lamar Odom’s troubled marriage to Khloé Kardashian, which was as memorable as his incredible basketball career. Lamar talks exclusively to TMZ, opening up like never before about his sex addiction and drug use and how it torpedoed his marriage to the love of his life and turned him into a shell of his former self. The good news…true to form Lamar has rebounded in a spectacular way.”
Odom and Kardashian married in 2009 but divorced four years later. She filed for divorce in 2013, but withdrew it in 2015 after his near-fatal drug overdose. Kardashian and her family continued to be there for Odom during his medical battle. Kardashian filed for divorce again in May 2016, and the divorce was finalized in December of that year.
Six years after their divorce, Odom wanted to reconnect with Kardashian. He admitted that he was deeply sorry that their marriage did not work out.
He said in one episode of “Celebrity Big Brother”:
“I didn’t treat that good woman right.”
He added in a confessional:
“I would probably just want to take her to dinner. It would be a blessing just to be in her presence to just tell her I’m sorry and what a fool I was. She has the right to never see me again for the things I put her through, but time moves on, and people change. I would say I’m a lot more loyal now.”
