Drake Bell, a singer and actor, ushered in 2023 with a slew of historic events.
According to Page Six, the troubled Nickelodeon star has reportedly split from his wife, actress Janet Von Schmeling, in the midst of his most recent problems.
They are rumored to be on the verge of divorce.
Along with his rumored new relationship status, Drake has reportedly begun therapy.
Last month, the “Drake and Josh” star was seen “huffing” balloons in his car while his son sat in the backseat in a vape store parking lot.
A source told the publication that Janet had “had enough.”
The singer-actor and his now 28-year-old wife began dating in 2013. In 2018, they married in a small ceremony.
Janet is said to have relocated back to Florida with their child and closed on a property there with the help of her family.
The insider said:
“They used to have some really wonderful moments. They’ll be excellent co-parents in the future if he concentrates on staying healthy.”
They continued:
“It’s an awful time for Drake. But when he is fit and sober, he makes a fantastic father.”
Drake Bell’s recent rough patch is not his first.
Drake’s earnings as a child actor in two successful series did not last, as he declared bankruptcy in 2014, according to TMZ. According to court documents, he owes more than $2 million.
Drake’s ex-girlfriend, Melissa Lingafelt, claimed in 2020 that he had physically and verbally abused her after being accused of driving under the influence in 2015. He denied the allegations.
That same year, Drake’s other ex, Paydin Layne, reportedly sent Melissa a direct message to support her and admit that she, too, had experienced violence during their 2011-2016 relationship.
Drake Bell moved to Mexico and changed his name to Drake Campana soon after. In 2020, he released his first Spanish single, “Fuego Lento,” as well as an album entirely in Spanish, as part of his repositioning as a performer who sang in Spanish. However, according to Spotify, some of his most popular tracks are in Spanish.
In 2021, the former “Amanda Show” actress admitted to two criminal charges stemming from an incident in 2017: attempted child endangerment and publishing information harmful to minors. He was sentenced to two years on probation and 200 hours of community service.
According to prosecutors, Drake met an adult woman he met online. Then, in 2017, she attended his concert in Cleveland. Drake allegedly sent the girl “inappropriate social media texts,” according to authorities.
