Is there a feud between SZA and Taylor Swift?

Fans have speculated that the two are engaged in a silent and subtle battle as their albums compete for No. 1 on the Billboard 200 Albums chart.

SZA’s latest album, “SOS,” has topped the Billboard 200 albums chart since its release in December. It prevented Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” from returning to No. 1, where it had reigned for several weeks before being lynched by Drake and 21 Savage’s “Her Loss.”

The Hits Daily Double Top 20 Albums Projection for the January 2023 debut week is based on the Hits Daily Double Top 20 Albums Projection. “SOS” is currently neck and neck with “Midnights.” SZA maintains her lead with a margin of 2,000 album units.

Things may change in the coming days, as the two of them have stepped up their game.

Swift has released four digital albums, “#BehindTheSong,” a behind-the-scenes look at how she wrote “Anti-Hero,” “Bejeweled,” “Karma,” and “Mastermind,” in four limited edition, newly covered editions.

Meanwhile, SZA released the long-awaited “PSA” as well as her solo version of “Open Arms” with her original third verse.

As a result, netizens have pointed out that the two of them have been battling for the top spot, sparking a battle between the two female singers’ fans over who gets to be the top.

However, SZA took the time to address the now-growing speculation that she is feuding with Taylor Swift for the No. 1 spot.

She said in a statement:

“Uhh I feel silly that I even have to say this but i see supporters arguing and I hate that . I don’t have beef w ANYONE especially not Taylor lmao I genuinely loved her album and the writing! Everyone’s jus tryna do their BEST as we all should . LOVE TO EVERYONE. Gn.”

According to Uproxx, SZA had to clarify that her album isn’t solely about sad songs, heartbreak, or vengeance.

“Ignoring songs like ‘SOS,’ ‘PSA,’ ‘Conceited,’ ‘Low,’ ‘Forgiveless,’ ‘Seek N Destroy,’ ‘Notice Me,’ or ‘Ex Pack,’ pretending I only make sad girl music is dumb,” she explained, adding “Good Days.”

“SOS” received generally positive reviews from critics, with five-star ratings from music publications.
