Rumer Willis’ pregnancy announcement allegedly gave Bruce Willis a “new will to live” while battling a rare brain disorder.

Rumer, Willis and Demi Moore’s daughter, announced her pregnancy in December through her publicist, Jennifer Abel. According to a spokesperson for USA Today, Willis and Moore are expecting their first grandchild.

She also posted black-and-white photos of her baby bump and her boyfriend, Derek Richard Thomas, kissing her belly on Instagram.

Following the news, unnamed sources told Radar Online that the “Save the Last Dance For Me” singer began attempting to meet and bond with his grandchild before his health condition deteriorated.

The source stated:

“He’s determined to stay coherent and lucid for as long as possible so his grandchild can have some happy memories of a grandfather who was present and active in his or her life.”

Willis is said to be “racing against time” despite this and his willingness to return to the spotlight as an actor.

Dr. Michael Tuchman, a neurologist who has not seen Willis personally, believes that his condition is not only incurable but also has the potential to devastate his health.

This comes after a separate insider stated that he prayed for a holiday miracle as his family watched his health deteriorate.

Among these, Rumer revealed in an episode of “The Talk” that the actor had always wanted grandchildren, particularly a boy.

Willis’ family announced his retirement after he was diagnosed with aphasia.

Emma Heming Willis said:

“To Bruce’s amazing supporters, as a family, we wanted to share that our beloved Bruce has been experiencing some health issues, and [he] has recently been diagnosed with aphasia, which is impacting his cognitive abilities.”

According to Johns Hopkins Medicine, it is a language disorder caused by brain damage that controls comprehension. People with aphasia are unable to communicate with others as effectively as they once did. The disease can also result in a stroke.

Following his retirement, there were rumors that he was mistreated on a movie set because he couldn’t remember his lines.

According to ET Canada, producer Randall Emmett allegedly stated in September 2020 that he couldn’t “do it” any longer. Crew members claimed to have seen Willis struggle to record his scenes. The actors reportedly assisted him with his lines via an earpiece.
