Minzy of 2NE1 has established herself as one of the most prominent K-POP idols in the world, with 14 years of experience under her belt.
Minzy, born Gong Min-ji, grew up in the K-POP industry and is now one of the most famous K-POP idols thanks to the success of the girl group 2NE1.
2NE1 was a huge success and well-received, and despite disbanding, they are still regarded as one of the biggest girl groups in South Korea.
Having said that, Minzy, along with the other former members CL, Park Bom, and Sandara Park, can still draw hundreds of thousands of fans to a show.
Fans couldn’t get enough of the four-membered group when they reunited at Coachella in 2022. Despite the reunion, an official reunion for the group is unlikely, especially with all members pursuing solo careers.
The K-POP star reportedly has a net worth of $1 million and is now the proud owner of a dance studio in Seoul.
It’s no surprise that Minzy decided to open “Millenium Dance Academy” as the group’s main dancer. As a result, the idol remains popular among fans and netizens.
She has been named a brand ambassador for several companies, including Fila and Nikon, and her YouTube channel, “MINZY TV,” is doing extremely well.
According to reports, Minzy’s success was not easy. She had to literally work her way up from the bottom when she first entered the industry at the age of 15.
Although being a rookie for one of South Korea’s largest entertainment companies helped, she was limited in many ways.
She was able to express herself more freely as a solo artist, making and releasing music on her own terms.
In a 2021 interview promoting her new song “Teamo,” she stated:
“I think being a solo artist is a new experience for me, a new chapter of Minzy.”
Minzy’s long discography was supplemented by her involvement in K-Dramas, where she composed music for the show “Rebel.”
She admitted that going solo had a positive mental impact on her, and she now has a successful career and a strong media presence in her home country.
On her 29th birthday, fans from South Korea and around the world flocked to social media to wish her a happy birthday.
