Despite their Twitter feud, SZA and Taylor Swift appeared to be getting along just fine.
Since SZA’s debut on the charts last December, both artists have been in a head-to-head battle because Swift’s “Midnights” and “Anti-Hero” had been ruling the Billboard 200 and Billboard Hot 100 charts, respectively.
The two huge stars were rumored to be engaged in a social media feud as they released more content to boost their ranking on the coveted charts. Their fans, in particular, have been at odds after Swifties pointed out that one of SZA’s producers had shaded Swift in a since-deleted Instagram story after scoring the year’s first No. 1 album.
But SZA has since put an end to the feud, saying:
“Uhh I feel silly that I even have to say this but i see supporters arguing and I hate that . I don’t have beef w ANYONE especially not Taylor lmao I genuinely loved her album and the writing! Everyone’s jus tryna do their BEST as we all should . LOVE TO EVERYONE. Gn.”
Despite this, Swifties and SZA’s fans were still fighting on Twitter, proving that each artist rules their own chart.
SZA’s “SOS” is the No. 1 album this week, while Swift’s “Anti-Hero” is the No. 1 song.
Swift thanked her fans for the incredible 8th-week feat – her longest rule yet – after the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 chart was announced, while also complimenting SZA’s album, whose lead single “Kill Bill” is at No. 2 next to “Anti-Hero.”
Swift said in an Instagram story:
“What on earth I love you guys…PS – been listening to SZA’s album nonstop. Absolutely adore her music. So much love and respect for her!!!”
SZA quickly reciprocated by reposting the story and complimenting the hitmaker.
She wrote:
“Congratulations to tay tay! And thank you so much your album and writing is phenomenal ..as ALWAYS.”
The two will compete for chart supremacy again next week, but it appears that Miley Cyrus’ lead single, “Flowers,” is also expected to peak at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 charts, making it difficult for SZA’s “Kill Bill” to topple.
