Post Malone’s collaboration with Halsey and Future on the song “Die For Me” from his “Hollywood’s Bleeding” album in 2019 delighted fans. Today, nearly four years after its original release, the “Colors” hitmaker will release her solo version of the song; when will it be available?

According to Rolling Stone, the singer’s original line on the collaborative track included a rap verse about a cheating ex-boyfriend, implying that her relationship with G-Eazy was a cheating one.

Halsey is preparing to release her solo version of “Die 4 Me,” which will be available for streaming on February 24, 2023, after receiving approval from Post Malone and Future.

The musician wrote on Instagram:

“Next Friday I’ve got a little surprise coming. It’s been long known in my fanbase that there’s a demo of “Die For Me” with just me on it.”

The singer stated that she performed the verse on tour and that many fans had requested an official studio version, finally prompting her to release the project.

Ending her post, the “Roman Holiday” singer expressed her appreciation to Post Malone and Future, writing:

“Big big thanks to @postmalone @louisbell and @future for having me on the original release and co-signing this version finally seeing daylight.”

According to the outlet, Post Malone originally dedicated the song to people dealing with an “adulterating spouse or s***** relationship.”

She said that the song serves as a reminder that they are not alone and that better days are ahead. Many fans speculated that the musician’s ex-boyfriend, G-Eazy, inspired the song.

Months before the collaborative project’s release, Halsey, whose real name is Ashley Nicolette Frangipane, performed “Without Me” on “Saturday Night Live.”

Messages from an unnamed ex-boyfriend who admitted to cheating on her were displayed on the big screen during her performance.

In her “Die For You” verse, the musician expressed her true feelings about what happened, writing:

“should follow my gut/I don’t play anymore, I went through your phone/And called the girls in your DMs and took all of them home.”

Rumors of Halsey and G-Eazy’s romance began in 2017 after the two performed “Him & I” together during the rapper’s Bud Light Dive Bar Tour in New Orleans. The next day, they appeared to confirm their relationship by posting photos on social media with the caption, “Thank you baby.”

However, Halsey took to her Instagram stories more than a year later to confirm that they were “taking some time apart.”
