Tory Lanez’s sentencing is postponed as his legal team works tirelessly to obtain a new trial.

Megan Thee Stallion triumphed in her high-profile assault trial against Tory Lanez, who was found to have shot the female rapper in the foot in 2020.

According to multiple reports from NBC News and Meghan Cunniff’s blog, the highly anticipated Tory Lanez sentencing has been rescheduled.

Most recently, the sentencing was scheduled for April 10, 2023, but was pushed back by Lanez’s legal team.

This time, Judge David J. Herriford purposefully delayed it to allow Tory Lanez to exercise their right to appeal. Tory Lanez’s sentencing trial date has been set for April 17, 2023, in Los Angeles.

Tory Lanez’s sentencing has already been postponed several times. The last day was supposed to be April 10, 2023, but Herriford extended the deadline.

Tory Lanez’s attorneys requested a new trial last month. Herriford added an extension to their case as Lanez’s legal team sought to add to their argument for the massive appeal.

  • discharging a firearm with gross negligence
  • carrying a loaded, unregistered firearm in a vehicle.
