Taylor Swift and her six-year boyfriend, Joe Alwyn, recently ended their relationship.

It followed previous reports of their struggles dealing with “personality differences” and a few bumps in the road.

According to a source, they have decided not to repair their relationship.

An insider told People magazine:

“They’ve had rough patches before and always worked things out, so friends thought they would take some time apart but eventually come back together.”

Despite being first spotted together in May 2017 while the “Anti-Hero” singer was between projects, the two were “ultimately” incompatible, according to the source, who noted too many differences in their personalities for them to make things work.

At the start of their relationship, when the “Reputation” tour had just ended, they shared plenty in common, creating a safe and secure environment to fall in love.

According to the source, the pandemic had the opposite effect of isolating them; instead of isolating them, it brought them closer together by giving them a chance to bond further while being locked down.

It is said to have given them more time to grow and strengthen their relationship.

According to their source, the British actor and the Grammy-winning singer were so engrossed in their respective worlds that they didn’t understand each other outside of it.

This allegedly close-knit environment provided an ideal platform for both to collaborate on a trio of albums- “Folklore,” “Evermore,” and “Midnights”- for which ten songs were co-written and co-produced.

Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn’s creative partnership was praised, but according to a source, one had difficulty accepting the other’s fame and success.

The “Lover” singer’s worldwide fame became too difficult for the “Mary Queen of Scots” actor to accept, and it has become increasingly difficult for the couple.

An insider claims that:

“the differences in their personalities have only grown more obvious over time, making it hard for them to stay together.”

The source also mentioned:

“The attention from fans and press surrounding Taylor’s fame has been a major factor in the couple’s struggles.”

According to recent reports, the ex-couple discussed marriage within the last few months; however, their ideological differences proved too great for them to overcome.
