Despite storming the film industry in recent years, “Don’t Worry Darling” star Harry Styles explains why he won’t be as active in Hollywood in the near future.
Harry Styles, best known for his music, made his feature film debut in “Dunkirk” in 2017, followed by the psychological thriller “Don’t Worry Darling” in 2022. The former “One Direction” singer also appeared as Thanos’ brother, Eros, in the post-credits scene of Marvel’s “Eternals,” implying that he will play a major role in the Marvel cinematic universe soon.
However, it appears that the intergalactic playboy will not be appearing in Marvel anytime soon. In a recent interview with Rolling Stone, the musician stated that acting was not part of his life plan and that he will avoid the big screen for the time being to focus on his true passion: music.
The 28-year-old singer explained:
“I don’t imagine I’d do a movie for a while. I think there’ll be a time again when I’ll crave it, but when you’re making music, something’s happening. It feels really creative, and it feeds stuff. A large part of acting is the doing nothing, waiting thing. Which if that’s the worst part, then it’s a pretty good job.”
Styles won’t be around much or have enough time to shoot for films this year because of his “Love on Tour.” However, the “As It Was” singer was able to complete production on his latest film, “My Policeman,” which will be released in theaters on October 21 and will be available on Prime Video on November 4.
During this year’s San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige assured fans that Harry Styles will reprise his role as Eros in future films.
Feige revealed:
“The adventures of Eros and Pip is something that is very exciting for us. You’re talking about Ghost Rider, we’ve got Blade, we’ve got Doctor Strange with the supernatural angles, we’ve got the street level with our announcement of Daredevil and of course, Spider-Man, and cosmic, and that’s where our friends Eros and Pip live.”
While the Marvel president confirmed Styles’ return to the MCU, he did not specify which film the singer will appear in. According to Pinkvilla, Eros is very likely to appear in “Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 3” or “Avengers: The Kang Dynasty.”
