Alec Baldwin received another damaging accusation during the “Rust” shooting investigation.

Following last year’s defamation case, the family of fallen US Marine Rylee J. McCollum filed a second lawsuit against Baldwin. They accused the actor of being negligent and reckless this time after he revealed McCollum’s sister was at a protest last year.

According to Fox News, McCollum’s survivors – Roice McCollum, Cheyenne McCollum, and widow Jiennah McCollum – announced the new case. They are now requesting $25 million in damages after the “Rust” actor referred to the late Marines as “insurrectionists.”

Following the incident, Baldwin’s fans slammed McCollum and verbally abused him.

The lawsuit reads, per CNN:

“While she was present at the [January 6th] demonstration, Roice did not take part in, nor did she support or condone the rioting that erupted. Baldwin plainly ignored Roice’s denial of rioting and the assertion that she was cleared by the FBI for participating in any of the conduct Baldwin chose to falsely attribute to her via his massive following.”

McCollum, then 20, was one of 13 US service members killed in the August 26 bombing outside Hamid Karzai International Airport’s Abbey Gate. They assisted evacuees in leaving Afghanistan at the time to ensure the people’s safety amid the Taliban attack.

They were killed due to the chaotic withdrawal of the Biden administration from the country.

Baldwin’s new legal battle began when he commented on an Instagram photo of her at the Washington Monument. The actor went on to say that McCollum’s family were insurrectionists.

Roice later clarified that she had only attended a protest in support of President Donald Trump. There were also reports that she had nothing to do with the riots.

The new case was revealed as Baldwin is still dealing with the investigation into the “Rust” shooting incident.

The FBI recently revealed that Baldwin pulled the trigger, striking cinematographer Halyna Hutchins, because the gun would not fire on its own. The actor had effectively pulled the trigger.
