Gwen Stefani fondly recalls this occasion with Blake Shelton: ‘That was such a moment for me’

Gwen Stefani appeared on the Kelly Clarkson Show and shared a heartfelt moment with her husband, Blake Shelton.

When asked about a particular red carpet look, Stefani revealed that it was special because it was her first public date with the country singer.

The gown in question was a slinky, sheer red gown that highlighted the singer’s figure and legs. It had a detailed design that surrounded Stefani with petals and roses.

The crimson red Yanina Couture gown marked her first red carpet appearance with Shelton and was not only the gown stunning but also a memorable night for the singers.

She said while laughing:

“That was my first public date with Blake Shelton, actually. It was the Oscars Vanity Fair party. I think I played at the party and then we went out that night.”

She said the singer’s red carpet appearance was even more special because she isn’t a big fan of red carpets.

She said:

“He never does red carpets, now that I know him. It was kind of a red carpet. It was raining that night.”

They met on “The Voice,” a singing competition show where they both serve as coaches. They’ve been on the show since 2014, as has Clarkson, ironically. She served as a coach from the 14th to the 21st season of the show.

She revealed this in an interview with NBC Insider:

“I’m gonna be brutally honest. When I first came on The Voice [in 2014], I didn’t know that Blake even existed really in the world.”

“But then I did my homework and I could see that he was an amazing songwriter, and then I could see everybody falling in love with him.”

The couple was spotted watching a football game together in 2015, sparking dating rumors, and by February 2016, they were seen getting cozy during the pre-Grammy Gala. It wasn’t long before they walked hand-in-hand down the red carpet, which Stefani mentioned in her interview with Clarkson.

The couple is a musical powerhouse with diverse musical backgrounds. They got engaged in 2020 and married at Shelton’s ranch in Oklahoma the following year. “Nobody But You,” “Happy Anywhere,” and “You Make It Feel Like Christmas” are among the songs the couple has released.
