Jana Kramer appears on “Red Table Talk” with Jada Pinkett Smith to discuss her divorce from Mike Caussin after six years of marriage and how she is dealing with the aftermath.

As she began to cry, the 38-year-old country singer told Pinkett Smith:

“I know we’re both in better situations. But I think about this year, my kids won’t wake up in my house on Christmas day. That one’s gonna hurt.”

Kramer married Caussin in 2015, and the couple has two children, Jolie Rae and Joseph.

According to reports, the couple had a brief romance. They began dating in August 2014. Five months after their engagement, they married.

During her interview with Pinkett Smith, she became emotional while discussing how Caussin cheated on her with “more” than 13 people.

She said:

“That’s when I get like, that’s not fair. You took away my dream too of what I wanted for my family. That’s not fair.”

Pinkett Smith sympathetically replied:

“that’s a hard one. When your familial dreams coincide with childhood trauma.”

The “One Tree Hill” actress also revealed the promises her ex-husband would make to her whenever she caught him having an affair.

“[He’d say] ‘I’m gonna get baptized’ or ‘I’m gonna go to therapy every week’ or ‘I’m gonna go to a meeting.”

“It’s like, ‘I’m never gonna do it again with the next one because now I’m gonna be a better man.’ I’m like, ‘Oh, I want that better man.'”

She had had enough of broken promises and excuses.

“finally the last time, last April when I caught him again, he’s like, ‘Now I know that I’ll never do it again.’ And I’m like, ‘And you know what? For that person, she’s gonna be real lucky that you won’t.’ And that’s when I left.”

Kramer filed for divorce from the NFL player in April 2021, citing:

“inappropriate marital conduct, irreconcilable differences, and adultery.”

She lamented the end of her marriage and her efforts to repair it before filing for divorce in an Instagram post.

She wrote:

“I’ve fought y’all. I loved hard. I’ve forgiven. I’ve put the work in. I’ve given everything I have, and now I have nothing else to give. It’s time.”

“Please know that I still believe wholeheartedly in marriage, love, and rebuilding.’ I just can’t fight any longer. It’s time to heal.”

The divorce was not unexpected, as Kramer reportedly gave Caussin an “ultimatum” when she discovered his extramarital affairs.

He said:

“Jana kind of gave me an ultimatum when everything came out, and she discovered everything, and she looked at me and said, ‘You need to go somewhere. Basically, you need to figure out what’s going on and what this is, or I’m gone, period.’ I had so much shame about my behavior for years and I was like, there’s no way God is going to accept me with the things that I’ve done.”
