Katy Perry appears to have scratched a post that did not sit well with many.

Katy Cats are making a lot of noise on Twitter, among many other fans, after seeing Katy Perry’s recent Instagram revelation yesterday, Nov. 8, 2022.

Perry, a longtime supporter of women’s rights and the recent overturning of Roe v Wade by the United States Supreme Court, has once again endorsed Los Angeles Municipal Mayor candidate Rick Caruso.

The real estate mogul and former Republican who became a Democrat has a celebrity following that includes Perry, Gwyneth Paltrow, and even Kim Kardashian.

Perry culminated her vocal support for the candidate by posting a selfie on Instagram showing her voting for Caruso, all smiles and a huge thumbs up.

The pop star captioned on her post:

“I am voting for a myriad of reasons (see the news) but in particular because Los Angeles is a hot mess atm.”

The comment section has since been turned off.

This hasn’t stopped Perry’s supporters and detractors from venting on Twitter, mocking her for her outspoken support for the candidate.

Since then, fans have pointed out the irony of Perry’s support for Caruso and her outspoken support for women’s reproductive rights.

Caruso has previously been accused of funneling money to Republicans and anti-abortion efforts, in addition to switching parties 30 days before the election.

This sparked concern among liberal voters and Democrats in the area, who shifted their support to Rep. Karen Bass, a vocal opponent of Caruso and a strong supporter of abortion rights.

Another commented:

“katy perry tweeting out a pro-choice video while voting for rick caruso would be objectively hilarious if it wasn’t painfully dumb.”

A fan shared:

“For a woman who made the beginning of her career about kissing a girl, Katy Perry sure did just shit all over them with her vote.”

As of this writing, NBC News live stats show Caruso trailing Bass in a neck-and-neck race for LA Mayor, with 252,476 and 240,194, respectively.
