Chris Brown should be forgiven years after assaulting Rihanna, Kelly Rowland says

LOS ANGELES, CA - FEBRUARY 03: R&B singer Chris Brown appears in court for a probation progress hearing on February 3, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. Brown has been on probation since pleading guilty to assaulting his then girlfriend, singer Rihanna, after a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009. He has been in anger management treatment program and performing community service requirements but failure to meet probation requirements could be even further complicated by assault charges he and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy face stemming from an incident outside the W hotel in Washington D.C. last October. Kelly Rowland expressed her support for Chris Brown following the R&B singer’s recent suffering as a result of his previous actions.

Rowland spoke out about Brown again on Monday, urging haters to forgive the singer already.

She told a news outlet:

“I believe that grace is very real, and we all need a dose of it. Before we point fingers at anybody, we should realize how grateful we are for every moment that we get, even for our own [problems] that we have. I just think it’s important to remember to be human. We are humans.”

The 41-year-old singer said that everyone should be forgiven for anything they did or thought. As a result, she believes that everyone is deserving of grace and forgiveness.

Rowland’s recent remark came following the conclusion of the 2022 American Music Awards.

What was supposed to be another memorable night for Brown devolved into chaos when Rowland received her award at the 2022 AMAs in his absence. Meanwhile, the former Destiny’s Child singer asked the audience to stop applauding him during his acceptance speech.

When Brown won the Favorite Male R&B Artist award, she told the audience to relax.

Rowland received heartfelt support from fans who believed she did the right thing after defending Brown.

The public’s rage persists decades after he was charged with assault for abusing his then-girlfriend, Rihanna.

After attending the Grammy Awards with the singer in 2009, he was charged with felony domestic assault. When the pair left the pre-Grammy party, they got into a public brawl, which resulted in bruises on the “Umbrella” singer’s face and arms.

According to reports, the altercation began when Rihanna read a long text message from another woman on his phone. Authorities discovered that the R&B singer repeatedly hit her head against the passenger window before punching her with his right hand while driving.

After being charged with two felonies for assault, Brown was sentenced to five years probation and 1,400 hours of community service.

They reunited in 2012 after Rihanna’s restraining order against him was lifted, and she invited him to be a part of the “Birthday Cake” remix.
