Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck married in front of their friends and family recently.
They are, however, already confronted with a new conflict.
Ben and JLo are already pleased with their respective children, according to New Idea. The “Batman vs. Superman” actor has three children with ex-wife Jennifer Garner, while the “Maid in Manhattan” actress has twins with Marc Anthony.
According to an insider who spoke with the magazine, the newlyweds want to expand their family by having a biological child.
However, there may be a problem because the two are getting older.
They said:
“It’s been difficult to accept that their one-time ambition of having a child together would likely no longer be achievable. They, in a sense, missed the baby boat.”
The actress’s chances of having a child with Ben using her eggs appear to be slim to none. JLo is, after all, in her fifties.
According to the source, if JLo decides to carry Ben’s child, she will do so using a donor egg, delaying their desire to have their child.
The insider stated:
“Knowing they’ll never be able to meet the baby they dreamt about having so many years ago is bittersweet.”
If Ben and JLo are adamant about having their child, adoption may be their only option.
This story, however, should be treated with caution because there is no confirmation that Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck will have their child.
When the couple remarried last year, they were already aware that the “Jenny From the Block” singer would be unable to have biological children due to her advanced age.
As a result, they are unlikely to put themselves under any pressure to have their child.
Ben Affleck also seemed to enjoy children, as he gave an emotional speech at his second wedding about his wife and twins Max and Emme.
According to an Us Weekly source, Ben expressed his love for JLo and her children, with a claim that children a:
“blessing and gift that happened because they didn’t get married earlier, and it is proof that everything occurs for a reason.”
The couple first eloped in July in Las Vegas, more than two decades after they became engaged in 2002. In 2004, they called off their engagement.
