Following recent controversy among “The Bachelorette” fans, reality star James Taylor has reportedly been arrested on two charges.

The “The Bachelorette” alum was arrested on September 10 for allegedly driving while intoxicated and unlawfully possessing a weapon. Police officers allegedly stopped the country singer in Katy, Texas.

According to ET:

“The reality TV alum and country singer was stopped by officers in Katy, Texas, on Saturday, September 10. Taylor was booked at the College Point Police Station and posted a total bond of $6,000 — $2,000 for his DWI and a $4,000 bond for his possession of a firearm, according to booking records.”

According to a separate KWTX report, Taylor was accompanied by an 18-year-old female college freshman in the passenger seat of his vehicle.

According to KWTX:

“Police went on to write in the report that she was impaired and ‘was not in any kind of condition to appraise the benefits and risks of the situation she was in'”

As of now, no representatives for Taylor have commented on the recent arrest.

Taylor sparked outrage among fans on Twitter in January 2021 when he tweeted about his support for Donald Trump during the US elections. The 35-year-old singer thanked ABC producers in his tweet for allegedly “supporting” him, though it is unclear how the network did so.

However, in the aftermath of Taylor’s controversial tweet, “The Bachelorette” executive producer Mike Fleiss calls out the reality show alum and expresses his displeasure with James’ behavior.

Following the country singer’s arrest, fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts on the matter, stating that, given Taylor’s recent issues, the recent incident did not surprise them.

James McCoy Taylor was a contestant on the 12th season of “The Bachelorette,” competing to woo real-estate developer Joelle “JoJo” Fletcher, 25. James Taylor is a country singer-songwriter off-screen. The ABC network show’s 12th season aired in 2016 from May 23 to August 1.
