Katy Perry’s music career is about to enter a new era with the release of a new album.

Katy Perry, who has been a judge on “American Idol” for five seasons, has hinted at a return to making music, which she was famous for.

Katy brought the “50 First Dates” actress turned television host to her Las Vegas Residency set in a recent interview on “The Drew Barrymore” Show.

Due to popular demand, Katy Perry’s Las Vegas residency “Play” has returned to The Theatre at Resorts World Las Vegas.

During the interview, she took Drew on a tour of her eye-popping colorful set, which she uses for her sold-out concert performances.

Gushing over Katy Perry during the interview, the conversation between the popstar and Drew Barrymore shifted to Katy’s offstage and onstage personas.

Katy then revealed to Billboard that she has an onstage persona that she portrays while performing. She also expressed her affection for “Play,” her Las Vegas residency, stating that it is her favorite show because it has brought her the most joy thus far.

When she’s not onstage, she compares herself to a businesswoman – an observer who saves a lot of her energy for herself.

The conversation heated up when Katy revealed her plans to release a new album soon.

She said during the interview:

“I’ll probably go and make another record soon and write it and tour the world after this, which will be so great.”

“Play” may not be her final Las Vegas residency, as she has expressed interest in touring and hitting the road soon after an album is released.

Katy claims she has the songs to create a grand spectacle for people as young as eight.

She continued:

“Those songs have taken me everywhere around the world, and I’ve toured the world three times over. So I know I need to go back because the world constantly changes, and there are new fans every day.”

Katy Perry’s upcoming album would be her seventh overall. Her most recent album, “Smile,” was released in 2020 but only charted at No. 40 on the Billboard 200. The album’s lead single, “Never Really Over,” peaked at No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100.
