Following the announcement that Rihanna will headline next year’s Super Bowl Halftime Show, fans have speculated about who the “Disturbia” singer might enlist for her set. Still, it appears that one artist has already teased fans.
Kanye West shared a screenshot of a Daily Mail report claiming the “Diamonds” singer was “mulling over a list of 50” possible guest performers for her set, piqued everyone’s interest.
West was among the list’s names, including Paul McCartney, Bono, Britney Spears, Calvin Harris, Coldplay, David Guetta, SZA, Jay-Z, Nicki Minaj, and Drake. However, the beauty mogul’s team has not confirmed any of the names mentioned in the report.
Several polls asking who fans wanted to see perform with Rihanna have since surfaced on Twitter. Responses range from Shakira, who collaborated with the singer in 2014 for “Can’t Remember to Forget You,” to Eminem, who collaborated with the singer in 2010 and 2013 for “Love The Way You Lie” and “The Monster,” respectively.
Meanwhile, some speculate that the “Umbrella” singer may take the stage alone for the entire 14-minute performance, with no guest performers.
In fact, some fans would prefer that the singer perform solo. A fan tweeted:
“Manifesting Rihanna’s Super Bowl bowl halftime show to be completely solo, no special guests please.”
As of this writing, no official list has been made available to the public. The reported list includes over 50 names and only names the artists above but based on the beauty mogul’s previous collaborations, some have already speculated.
Nylon Magazine released their list, which included artists such as Ne-Yo, A$AP Rocky, and T.I., who had not previously been mentioned in other reports.
It’s been more than five years since she released her album “Anti,” which left fans wanting more. She has been busy with other projects, including Fenty Beauty and her newborn child with partner A$AP Rocky. The Super Bowl Halftime Show will mark her return to the music scene.
While she hasn’t released any new music in recent years, her discography is chock-full of hits and bangers that will no doubt satisfy fans.
Some fans also suggested the Barbados native’s ideal setlist. They wrote:
“‘Disturbia,’ ‘Pon de Replay,’ ‘Only Girl in the World,’ ‘S&M,’ ‘B***h Better Have My Money,’ ‘Rude Boy,’ ‘Kiss it Better,’ ‘Diamonds,’ ‘Needed Me,’ ‘We Found Love.'”
It’s too early to tell who will be on the set and which songs the 34-year-old singer will perform, but that won’t stop fans from making suggestions and theorizing.
