After being smacked in the eye during an encore at his “Love on Tour” concert in Los Angeles this week, Harry Styles curled up in pain.
The British singer-actor was performing as part of his sold-out stay at The Forum after recovering from a recent illness when he was struck by a hard, sweet candy- Skittles.
Though he is used to being pelted with stuffed animals and flags while performing, the “As It Was” hitmaker was taken aback after being injured by a fan.
A fan near the stage tossed a handful of Skittles at Harry as he was about to finish his show with his song “Kiwi,” one of which hit him in the eye.
Videos that went viral on the internet showed a couple of pieces of the multi-colored candy raining down on the Cheshire-born celebrity, causing him to cover his eye.
After a few seconds, the former One Direction member waved his arm in the air, motioning to fans to stop throwing objects at him, before walking away with his eye still covered.
During the event, Harry thanked fans for attending the concert, which happened seconds before his infamous “whale” moment, in which he projects a volume of water into the air.
Skittles had to remind people to taste the rainbow rather than throw it because of what happened.
The brand said in a social media post hours after the sugary assault:
“Didn’t think I needed to say this: Please don’t throw Skittles.”
Meanwhile, many Harry Styles fans are outraged by what one of their idols did to them.
One person remarked:
“Whoever the f-k threw a solid item at his eye, you ruined Kiwi because he wouldn’t open his eye throughout the entire song.”
Another individual said:
“Are you serious? Take a look at how hard he recoils.”
Meanwhile, Harry appeared to be fine in the end, as he continued with the show while his bandmate, Pauli the PSM, updated fans on his condition later that evening during an Instagram Live DJ set.
He said, before adding not to throw Skittles on stage anymore:
“Confirming his eye is okay.”
This is the second time Harry Styles has been hit with a hard object on stage, after a fan threw something hard at him, striking his groin area, during a concert in Chicago last month.
The “Watermelon Sugar” moaned in pain after the object collided with his region, causing him to bend while holding his manhood.
