Taylor Swift has revealed the ideal breakup song, and it isn’t one of hers.

The Grammy Award-winning singer-songwriter stormed into everyone’s lives with breakup songs, but the 32-year-old Pennsylvania native believes there’s another one that takes the cake.

According to Billboard, the “Lavender Haze” hitmaker has publicly stated that Carly Simon’s “You’re So Vain” is the “greatest song ever written.”

Taylor Swift made the announcement earlier this month at a ceremony honoring the inductees into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame for 2022, which included the 79-year-old New York native.

In a video message on a virtual appearance, the “Never Ever Getting Back Together” singer said that the 1971 classic is “the finest song that’s ever written” and “the best way anyone has talked about a breakup, it’s amazing.”

Taylor Swift’s love for Carly Simon and the ultimate breakup song is well known, as the latter performed the song as a duet with her on her “Red” tour in 2013.

Meanwhile, not only did the “folklore” hitmaker pay tribute to Carly at the Hall of Fame ceremony.

Olivia Rodrigo also performed “You’re So Vain” at the ceremony.

Carly, like Taylor Swift and Olivia, was not afraid to write sad songs about her famous ex-boyfriends.

Carly finally revealed the name of one of her famous song’s inspirations in 2015, after years of keeping it a secret. The song is about her relationship with actor Warren Beatty in the 1970s.

In an interview, Carly stated that only the second verse is dedicated to him, whereas Warren believes the entire song is dedicated to him.

For the fourth week in a row, Taylor Swift’s “Midnights” has topped the Billboard 200 chart. It topped the list with 177,000 equivalent units earned in the United States in the week ending November 24, according to Luminate (via Billboard).

The album, however, was a huge success, and she became the first artist in history to hold all ten Billboard Hot 100 positions simultaneously.

Fans were surprised when her album or songs from “Midnights” were not included in the Grammy nominations announced last week.

Because, as it turns out, this year’s nomination deadline was October 1, and Taylor Swift’s album was released a few weeks later.

Despite this, she was nominated for four Grammys, including Song of the Year for “All Too Well (10 Minute Version) (The Short Film).”
