Drake has been unbeatable in recent years, dominating the charts and selling millions of album copies to his fans, but this year was different as he was dethroned by Taylor Swift and even lost a whopping $1 million; what happened?

Drake was ranked fifth on Billboard’s “Greatest Pop Stars of 2022” list for maintaining his legendary status this year.

Throughout the first half of the year, the rapper appeared on numerous collaborative tracks with other musicians, including “P power” with Gunna, “Churchill Downs” with Jack Harlow, “Wait For U” with Future, and many more.

Despite the fact that he had just released new music in 2021 with his album “Certified Lover Boy,” fans were taken aback when he began teasing a new project in June this year after posting a photo on Instagram with the caption “Honestly, Nevermind.”

The album was released immediately the next day, and no one saw it coming.

Drake experimented with the house music genre in his new album, which received mixed reactions from fans; however, he still dominated the charts, as it reached number one after selling 204,000 equivalent album units, making it his 11th number-one album.

Drake continued to release music in the fourth quarter of 2022, releasing “Her Loss,” a collaborative project with 21 Savage.

Although the album was a success, the rapper’s new era became controversial after he faked magazine covers and interviews to promote it.

Condé Nast sued them for “Flagrant Infringement” for their fake Vogue Magazine cover.

Taylor Swift’s wave of success has dominated the industry since the October 21 release of “Midnights,” leading her to dethrone Drake as the artist with the most singles on the Billboard Hot 100 Top 10 songs.

Drake previously held nine positions for one week last year, breaking the record for dominating the entire top ten list with songs from her latest album.

The “Paper Rings” hitmaker, 33, reacted to her record online, saying she was in “shambles” after hearing the news.

According to recent Drake news, the rapper lost a whopping $1 million, and Argentina appears to have “broken” the bizarre phenomenon known as the “Drake Curse.”

Many fans were concerned when the “Take Care” singer announced that he would bet on Argentina versus France in the World Cup finals, according to Uproxx.

The country won, but Drake lost money due to a technicality: he bet that Argentina would win before halftime, but France was able to score before the penalty shootout.

Drake has yet to announce new music for the coming year as of this writing.
