Shakira will stay in Spain for another five months, despite rumors that she was moving to Miami after her romance with Gerard Pique ended.

The 45-year-old Queen of Latin Music has postponed the major relocation with her two children due to the failing health of her 91-year-old father, William Mebarak.

According to Laura Fa, one of the two journalists frequently covering the mother-of-two for El Periodico, the “Waka Waka” hitmaker is unable to travel to Miami because her father’s condition is “extremely problematic.”

Shakira’s father spent Christmas in Barcelona with his daughter after being discharged from a private hospital in November and placed under round-the-clock professional at-home care following a fall last year.

His move to Miami is said to be against medical advice.

According to The Sun, he would be unable to handle the flight unless it was in a medically equipped aircraft.

The “Hips Don’t Lie” singer is also considering two departure dates, barring a last-minute change of heart. The first date is in March, around the time of the US spring break, and the second is in June, at the end of Milan and Sasha’s Catalan academic year.

Shakira, whose full name is Shakira Isabel Mebarak Ripoll, is said to be getting ready to start work on a new video. Her go-to stylist and choreographer are in town to help her get ready.

Shakira and her ex-football player revealed they had reached a child custody agreement after a lengthy discussion that culminated in a 12-hour court hearing in November.

The Colombian singer from Miami wants to go because it’s where she used to live and where some of her family is said to be.

In a joint statement, the famous couple, who divorced in May, said:

“We desire to convey that we have signed an agreement that assures the wellbeing of our children and that will be validated in court as part of a purely procedural procedure.”

There was also speculation that their children would spend Christmas with Gerard, who was dating Clara Chia, 23, but that he would have to leave as soon as the new year began because they would be moving to the United States in accordance with their custody arrangement.

Shakira, on the other hand, couldn’t help but criticize her ex-Barcelona defender ex in a New Year’s post about cheating and heartbreak.

She posted on Instagram:

“Although someone has betrayed us we should continue to trust. Faced with scorn, continue to value ourselves.”

Lionel Messi’s wife, Antonella Roccuzzo, also supported Shakira by responding to her tweet with three heart emojis.
