Shakira’s moment of truth has arrived, and she made some surprising admissions in a new tell-all interview.

In an interview with Enrique Acevedo of Televisa, the “Underneath Your Clothes” singer discussed how her divorce from Gerard Pique was impacted, particularly because it resulted from adultery.

Last year, the 46-year-old Princess of Latin Music and the 36-year-old Barcelona defender announced their separation after 12 years together.

It is Shakira’s second interview since her divorce was made public.

Gerard is now dating Clara Chia Marti, 23, and the singer of “Waka Waka” has spoken out.

She stated that she has been “strengthened” by her painful breakup and now feels self-sufficient.

Shakira stated that she previously brought into the “story” that a woman needs a man but now feels complete because she can only rely on herself after admitting she had always been “emotionally quite independent on men.”

Shakira told Enrique:

“There is a place in hell designated for women who don’t support other women.”

She was referring to Gerard Pique’s new partner, whom she had slammed in her hit song “BZRP Music Session #53” earlier this month.

When asked where she stood in the debate sparked by her most recent collaboration, in which she appeared to criticize both Gerard and Clara, the artist responded:

“I am exactly in the middle.”

“I also believed that a woman required a guy to complete herself. I also fantasized of having a family with a mother and father living under the same roof.”

She explained:

“You don’t realize all of your ambitions in life, but life has a way of compensating you, and I think life has definitely done it with me with the amazing two children I have who fill me with love every day.”

Shakira and Gerard Pique avoided a protracted legal battle for their two children by declaring last year that they had reached an agreement on child custody after secret talks and signing the agreement in a Barcelona court the following month.

Meanwhile, Gerard and Clara Chia Mati made their relationship public on Instagram, with the athlete cuddling up to his younger lover in a photo that received over a million likes.
