Meghan Markle made a remark about Kate Middleton that reportedly irritated the latter, and netizens have mixed feelings about it.

In his book “Spare,” the Duke of Sussex described various encounters between him, Meghan Markle, and his family. In a report about the memoir published in the Daily Mail, Prince Harry recounted an incident involving the Duchess of Sussex and the Princess of Wales that allegedly caused a huge squabble.

Markle allegedly referred to Middleton’s “baby brain due to her hormones” before their 2018 royal wedding. It reportedly irritated the future queen consort because “it wasn’t how people spoke to each other within the Royal Family.”

According to People and Page Six, the incident occurred shortly after Middleton gave birth to her and Prince William’s third son, Prince Louis. The incident sparked a Twitter debate, with some supporting Middleton and others defending Markle.

One commented:

“Meghan is not a feminist. Her behavior was insensitive and rude toward Kate and toward pregnant women in general with her ‘baby brain’ accusation to diminish Kate.”

Another added:

“I cannot believe a woman who claims she is perfect /feminist/woke used the words ‘you have baby brain’ for her sister-in-law. Harry exposed his wife here. Meghan Markle will not be pleased. #PrinceHarryhasgonemad.”

A third person wrote:

“And also insensitive Meghan toward Catherine and her stupid and rude baby brain comment. When I think she’s got a podcast about women and labels. Harry exposed his wife as a fake feminist and a bully. Well done, Harry.”

Others agreed with Markle, saying the remark wasn’t meant as an insult because they used it all the time.

One commented:

“Right, but this is the first time I’m seeing people call it an insult. I’ve said it about myself, to my family & my friends. And it was said in jest/joking or actually sometimes with concern. ‘It’s just baby brain. You’ll be ok. Don’t worry.’ But #MeghanMarkle says it and it’s an [insult].”

Another added:

“… I’m [sic] seen so many people jumping all over Meghan for the ‘baby brain’ comment (for which we don’t even know the exact context) but not a word about Kate’s behavior, which was abysmal.”

A third user wrote:

“I’ve heard it plenty over the last couple of decades. Baby brain simply means hormones are all over the map for a while.”

In his book, Prince Harry also shared another “awkward moment” between his wife and his sister-in-law. He claims Markle borrowed the Princess of Wales’ lip gloss because she forgot her own, which he describes as a “American thing.”

Middleton was reportedly taken aback and drew the item reluctantly. As Middleton grimaced, Markle allegedly squeezed some onto her finger and applied it to her lips.

“Spare” will be available on Tuesday.
