Kelly Clarkson is dealing with motherhood heartbreak after recently revealing her daughter’s unfortunate experience at school.
The TV host recently addressed the issue on her talk show “The Kelly Clarkson Show” when special guest Henry Winkler stopped by for an interview.
The “American Idol” winner revealed during their conversation that her 8-year-old daughter, River, has been bullied because of her dyslexia.
Winkler, a well-known American actor, is also known for writing numerous books despite his dyslexia. Clarkson didn’t hold back her emotions when she told River that the actor has the condition but was able to accomplish what he set out to do in life.
She said on her show:
“And you have told me that you’re dyslexic as well, and I find that amazing to tell my daughter that you’ve written, like, 40 books and you’re dyslexic,”
In another part of the interview, the former “The Voice” coach revealed that her daughter’s school did a presentation about dyslexia that included some amazing celebrities who were also dealing with the same condition, such as Henry Winkler.
According to Clarkson, River was empowered by the presentation because public figures are “so open about” having dyslexia.
The actor later turned to the camera and spoke directly to the host’s daughter, prompting Clarkson to get emotional, saying,:
“River, how you learn has nothing to do with how brilliant you are,”
Kelly Clarkson has a 7-year-old son named Remington in addition to River. Her ex-husband, Brandon Blackstock, is the father of both of her children.
The most recent episode of “Kelly Clarkson Show” comes just a week after the musician surprised fans by releasing the first two singles from her upcoming album, “mine / me.”
The singer revealed in an Instagram post that she and her team decided to release two songs to represent the “entire album or relationship.” There will also be stages of “grief and loss” in her upcoming album, and each song represents how she felt when she wrote it.
Aside from her upcoming album “Chemistry,” the pop superstar will also perform a ten-show residency in Las Vegas later this year.
