LOS ANGELES, CA – FEBRUARY 03: R&B singer Chris Brown appears in court for a probation progress hearing on February 3, 2014 in Los Angeles, California. Brown has been on probation since pleading guilty to assaulting his then girlfriend, singer Rihanna, after a pre-Grammy Awards party in 2009. He has been in anger management treatment program and performing community service requirements but failure to meet probation requirements could be even further complicated by assault charges he and bodyguard Christopher Hollosy face stemming from an incident outside the W hotel in Washington D.C. last October. Despite the fact that his concert tours are consistently sold out, Chris Brown has stated that he is no longer invited to perform at award ceremonies. Is he upset about it? Not at all. Is he ranting about it, though? Oh yes.

The 33-year-old musician, who is no stranger to controversy, has been performing to near-capacity crowds as part of his current tour. The Go Crazy artist wrote in all capital letters in a message originating with the artist and posted by DJ Akademiks.

“New Mexico – you see the people??? Every show is packed like this… if it wasn’t for my incredible fans I would’ve been quit. I don’t like this fake celebrity s**t… Awards shows haven’t let me perform in years…yet my show still sell out. Let me be great…”

Brown has since removed the complaint about being ignored by award shows from the post, which includes a video from the New Mexico performance. The R&B superstar hasn’t performed at an awards show since the 2017 BET Awards.

The “No Guidance” singer did not provide an explanation for his exclusion, though his legal difficulties may have provided some insight.

He was found guilty of physically assaulting Rihanna in a Lamborghini the night before the 2009 Grammy Awards.

According to the police report, Brown and Rihanna got into an argument after Rihanna discovered a text from a previous girlfriend on Brown’s phone.

According to the complaint, the “Run It” rapper attempted to push his then-girlfriend out of the car, and when he couldn’t since she was wearing a seatbelt, he hit her and pushed her head against the window.

He allegedly fled while still striking the “Umbrella” singer. Brown’s reputation has since been tainted, which has naturally affected how the music industry perceives him. His fans, on the other hand, have remained loyal to him.

Brown pleaded guilty to the charges and was eventually sentenced to five years of probation and 180 days of community service. Following a 2013 altercation in Washington, D.C., the Questions musician was charged with felony assault.

A man claims Brown and his security attacked him after attempting to jump into a photo with Brown and a female fan. Later, the charge was reduced to a misdemeanor. The “Iffy” singer was arrested in 2016 for allegedly threatening a woman with a gun during a party at his Tarzana home.
