George Clooney reveals juicy details about his kiss scene in the upcoming film “Ticket to Paradise” with co-star Julia Roberts.
The romantic comedy film “Ticket to Paradise,” directed by Ol Parker and written by Parker and Daniel Pipski, stars veteran actors George Clooney and Julia Roberts. Clooney and Roberts will also produce the upcoming film.
The two co-stars discussed the details of their upcoming film in a recent interview with The New York Times and revealed that there would be a “kiss” scene. Notably, the two had previously worked together on-screen in previous films.
The “Batman & Robin” actor stated that he told his wife that the kiss scene took “80 takes,” but they later clarified that 79 of them were just of the two co-stars laughing.
Clooney joked:
“Yeah. I told my wife, ‘It took 80 takes. She was like, ‘What the hell?'”
To which Roberts explained:
“It took 79 takes of us laughing and then the one take of us kissing.”
The plot of “Ticket to Paradise” revolves around a divorced couple, David (George Clooney) and Georgia (Julia Roberts), who discover that their daughter, Lily, is planning to marry a local in Bali whom she had only recently met. The ex-couple is forced to collaborate to sabotage their daughter’s wedding to prevent their daughter from repeating their failed marriage.
In their New York Times interview, Roberts revealed that “Ticket to Paradise” was “clearly written” for them because the main protagonists’ names were Georgia and Julian, about their real-life names when she first received the script.
Given the unfortunate current events, Roberts later expressed delight at reprising her role in a romantic comedy alongside Clooney.
Roberts explained:
“George and I felt a lot of happy responsibility in wanting to make a comedy together, to give people a holiday from life after the world had gone through a really hard time. It’s like when you’re walking down the sidewalk and it’s cold outside and you get to that nice patch of sun that touches your back and you go, ‘Oh, yeah. This is exactly what I needed to feel'”.
Clooney and Roberts previously worked together in 2001’s “Ocean’s Eleven.” They later played the same characters in the sequel, “Ocean’s Twelve.” Aside from the “Ocean’s” franchise, the two veteran actors have also appeared in “Confessions of a Dangerous Mind” and “Money Monster.”
