GloRilla may be one of the biggest female rappers in the industry today, but she didn’t get there easily, as she worked hard to achieve her goals. An old interview with the rapper resurfaced recently, in which it was revealed that she spent time in jail for an unusual reason.

An old clip from May 2022 made the rounds online, according to Uproxx. The rapper, whose real name is Gloria Woods, spoke to Funny Marco on his YouTube series in the video.

The Memphis-based musician discussed how she achieved massive success over the years before recalling an incident that occurred years ago that landed her in jail.

The host later questioned the rapper about her criminal history, and GloRilla confirmed that she had spent nearly three years in prison.

She spent time in jail because she stole cereal from K-Mart.

The host asked:

“You did three years in jail?”

Which she confirmed:

“yes.”

Funny Marco then told her:

“that don’t sound right, you don’t go to jail for stealing cereal, right?”

Despite her past, GloRilla has gone on to reap the benefits of her efforts in the future, as she is now a Grammy Award-nominated artist for Best Rap Performance.

She has collaborated with Cardi B, released her debut album “Anyways Life’s Great…,” and performed at the American Music Awards in recent months.

Another old video of the rapper went viral a few months ago, revealing that she used to work at a fast-food restaurant before becoming famous.

The musician can be seen wearing an intercom while taking orders from a drive-thru window in the clip, which appeared to be from an old Instagram Live.

She also has a distinct appearance due to her hairstyle and a gap in her teeth.

Before taking an order from a person pulling over, the rapper says in the video:

“‘What’s up, gap?’ Boy, you better get your ugly a*** back before I block your little ugly lame a**,”

She previously discussed her past in an inspirational Instagram post, saying that many people assumed her success happened overnight, but she worked hard for years to get where she is now.
