Ellie Goulding’s highly anticipated comeback album has been delayed, and it appears that she initially hesitated about the release date of her new record; what was the reason?

The English singer began her statement on her official Twitter account by apologizing to her fans, saying she’s sorry to announce that her album “Higher Than Heaven” would be delayed.

It was supposed to be released next month on February 3, but the pop star announced that it would be delayed until March 24.

She is delaying the release of her album due to “exciting opportunities” that she cannot wait to announce in the future.

She wrote:

“I know you’ve all been so patient with me but we’ve had some exciting opportunities appear behind the scenes which I cannot wait to share with you in due course,”

Goulding continued the thread with more tweets expressing her gratitude to fans. To thank her fans for their patience, the musician confirmed that a new single titled “Like A Savior” will be released soon, along with a music video that she considers to be one of her favorite videos she’s ever done.

Furthermore, the “Lights” singer revealed that she shot something “really exciting” over the weekend that will be released around the time her album is released, and that more information will be released soon.

In closing her statement, the singer thanked her fans for their support and said she couldn’t wait to release “Higher Than Heaven” soon.

“Brightest Blue,” the 36-year-old artist’s most recent album, was released in 2020 and included some of her biggest hits, including “Worry About Me,” “Bleach,” “Ode to Myself,” “Close to Me,” and many more.

In a previous interview, the pop star appeared to be hesitant about releasing her new album because she seemed to predict what would happen in the coming months.

In an October interview with Billboard, Goulding said her album was finished and she was confident it would be released on its official release date, but there were times when she would say, “No!” because there were more songs to write.

She said at the time:

“I have a couple more songs coming out this year. The next one I’m really excited about. It’s one of those songs that isn’t a radio song, but something I think people will enjoy,”
