Kering, the French brand’s parent company, said in a statement to Women’s Wear Daily, “Balenciaga has no longer any affiliation nor any intentions for future initiatives associated with this artist.”
The statement was short on details, but why he was let go is clear.
Meanwhile, a source close to the “Life of Pablo” rapper told The Sun that the entire situation had harmed him because he is attempting to establish himself as a respected figure in the fashion world.
“His association with Balenciaga has really boosted the brand but it was decided they will not be working with him any time in the near future.”
Although Kanye had severed ties with Gap recently, the two collaborated on Yeezy Gap Engineered by Balenciaga.
Yeezy and Balenciaga released several long-awaited items in early 2022.
During the most recent Paris Fashion Week, Kanye debuted the Balenciaga 2023 summer collection.
In the meantime, his ex-wife, Kim Kardashian, is still on Balenciaga’s list.
