Frank Ocean has received praise from fellow musicians, including pop star Justin Bieber, following his much-anticipated headlining set at Coachella.

However, a viral video recently emerged claiming that the Canadian singer dozed off during the performance.

Unfortunately, the buildup to what was supposed to be a fantastic headline show featuring the “Thinking About You” performer did not go as planned.

Justin took to Instagram to express his gratitude for Frank’s performance. Despite the disappointment felt by some fans, Justin found the performance “deeply moving.”

He said in an Instagram post:

“I was blown away by Frank Ocean’s Coachella performance.”

“His artistry is simply unmatched, his style, his taste, his voice, his attention to detail. I was deeply moved.”

The “Peaches” singer said:

“It made me want to continue and improve as an artist. He continues to set the bar high and gave me a night I will never forget. Thanks Frank.”

A TikTok video of Justin in the audience during Frank’s act was uploaded; viewers assumed he had dozed off. Regardless, it caused quite a stir on social media, with people debating what had happened.

The caption on the video said from TikTok user pineappleonpisa said:

“Not justin bieber asleep @ the frank set.”

One person reacted angrily to the “One Less Lonely Girl” hitmaker, saying:

“Yes asleep standing up.”

Another sarcastically remarked:

“Might as well since frank didn’t give us the performance anyways.”

The audience was unimpressed.

When Frank Ocean arrived on stage an hour later than expected, attendees were extremely disappointed. He remained seated throughout his performance and turned his back to the audience, giving the impression that he was occasionally lip-syncing.

Furthermore, much to everyone’s chagrin, the setlist omitted many of their favorite songs.

Justin Bieber, who disabled his Instagram comments, came under fire for defending Frank Ocean but failing to defend his wife, Hailey Baldwin-Bieber, amid several controversies.

Many social media users have asked:

“Why is Justin Bieber willing to defend Frank Ocean, but not his own wife?”

While the reason for Justin’s post’s comment section being disabled remains unknown, this question appears to be on many people’s minds.
