Swifties have turned to her music for comfort since the news of Joe Alwyn and Taylor Swift’s breakup broke.

They’ve specifically turned to Swift’s album “Lover,” which perfectly encapsulated her relationship with Alwyn for a variety of reasons.

Because of the streaming surge that “Lover” experienced last week, it has risen to No. 9 on the Billboard 200 charts three years after its release.

According to Billboard, “Lover” debuted at No. 9 on the charts after debuting at No. 12 the week before. The album has risen several places in the charts since Taylor Swift’s “The Eras” tour.

It jumped from No. 35 to No. 13, then to No. 16 a week later, then to No. 15, then to No. 12, and now to No. 9.

According to Luminate, “Lover” has amassed 34,000 album equivalent units from its recent ascent to the top.

The album debuted with 867,000 album-equivalent units in February 2020. It has already sold 450,000 copies on its first day. Album sales accounted for 78% of total unit sales.

Notably, the album sold more than all 199 albums on the Billboard 200 albums chart combined, making it one of Swift’s most successful albums to date. The album’s 18 tracks all debuted on the Hot 100 charts.

According to a People Magazine report, Swift may have dedicated seven songs from “Lover” to Alwyn.

Among these songs are “Lover,” the hit “Cruel Summer,” “I Think He Knows,” “Paper Rings,” the obvious “London Boy,” “Daylight,” and the hauntingly beautiful “Cornelia Street.”

According to an exclusive report from Entertainment Tonight, Taylor Swift and Joe Alwyn split up after six years of dating.

However, neither Swift nor Alwyn has confirmed or denied the allegations as of this writing. Reports of third-party and cheating incidents have surfaced, but they remain speculative and rumors to this day.

Swift has been on tour with her “Eras” album, while Alwyn is filming “The Brutalist” in Europe.
