Mel B shared a throwback photo of the Spice Girls without Geri Horner on Instagram on Sunday, the 22nd anniversary of the album. This comes after she missed Geri’s star-studded 50th birthday party.
Is there a clandestine feud going on here?
The 47-year-old singer posed with former bandmates Victoria Beckham, Melanie Chisholm, and Emma Bunton in a photo from 2000. It happened when Geri was not a member of the group.
Mel was unable to attend Geri’s 50th birthday party with the rest of the girls on Saturday night, with her agent telling MailOnline that she ‘had a long conversation’ with her longtime friend prior to the celebration.
Melanie went to her family’s annual bonfire night celebration, which was also a celebration of her engagement to Rory, but she had a lengthy conversation with GerI before the party.
Mel, who recently announced her engagement to Rory McPhee, was not present at the ceremony.
Geri reportedly spent a fortune on the lavish celebration, according to The Sun. Ginger Spice turned 50 in August but had to postpone her celebration due to the Queen’s death.
The singer was photographed with her husband, Christian Horner, and her 16-year-old daughter Bluebell, whom she shares with film director Sacha Gervasi, as well as her bandmates and television host Rylan Clark. During the party, Christian gave an emotional speech and was photographed slow dancing with his wife.
Shirley Bassey reportedly serenaded the birthday lady with a stunning performance of “Happy Birthday,” with Alexandra Burke reportedly performing.
Along with Zack Ashley, Myleene Klass and Poppy Delevingne were spotted on the dance floor busting a few moves. Rylan, 34, shared an Instagram photo of himself wearing the Union Jack coat he wore during his 2012 performance of a Spice Girls medley on The X Factor.
Geri’s ex, radio star Chris Evans, and This Morning host Holly Willoughby, 41, were also in attendance. Chris, who attended with his professional golfer wife Natasha Shishmanian, 42, dated Geri briefly in 1999, when their careers peaked.
Since it was Bonfire Night and fireworks were fired into the sky, a three-course dinner was served to 160 guests while a live band played jazz and swing music. It comes after rumors circulated last month that Mel B and her fiance were planning to marry.
Mel B has announced her engagement to her fiance. Scary Spice recently stated in an interview that her fellow Spice Girls have approved of her fiancé and shed tears at the news.
Mel revealed that she is concerned about what her bandmates think of her boyfriend and that they’ve never loved any of her friends. Thank goodness for Rory McPhee.
