Kanye West does not back down. He has repeatedly demonstrated that even if he is the only one standing up for what he believes in, he will do so.

He’s taking those admirable qualities to the next level by dabbling in politics once more. According to multiple reports, West intends to run for president in 2024.

The 45-year-old rapper, who previously ran as an independent candidate in the 2023 election, has previously expressed interest in running again, but no one expected him to follow through on his plan.

According to Billboard, when asked by media, “So, you’re running?”

West’s reply came swiftly:

“Yes, It’s simple ’cause ain’t nobody can tell me, you know, ‘You should say this, you shouldn’t say that,’ you know? It’s just we’re moving towards the future. [sic]”

According to reports, West is preparing for the feat by enlisting the assistance of Milo Yiannopoulos, a writer and activist. He previously worked as an editor for Breitbart News, a far-right American media outlet.

According to Consequence of Sound, Yiannopoulos and West’s friendship is “particularly troubling,” given the former’s views on Islam, feminism, the LGBTQIA+ community, and other topics. West, on the other hand, has been outspoken about his anti-Semitism.

West received 70,000 votes in total in 2020 and was on the ballot in only 12 states. His shaky campaign was set in motion by his late registration. According to reports, he only made one major campaign appearance, which was done at the last minute.

The rapper’s candidacy for the country’s highest office comes after his Twitter account was restored, as Elon Musk now owns the platform.

People took to social media to express their displeasure with West’s confirmation for a second presidential run.

A Twitter user wrote:

“Bro really thinks he’s gonna win. Literally no one voted for him last time what makes him think we’re gonna vote for him this time.”

Another wrote:

“I see Kanye accomplishing a lot of things, but being the President of the USA is definitely not one of the accomplishments I see him fulfilling.”

An angry netizen tweeted:

“Kanye West is running for president. Our government is a goddamn telenovela.”
